   ◊  School Crossing Guard

The position of school crossing guard is part-time employment that comes with a personal sense of job satisfaction as you safeguard school children walking across busy intersections on their way to and from school. School crossing guards oversee and control traffic flow around schools in the morning, at lunch time, and at the end of the school day.

▫ Pay & Benefits:
  • $20.40/hour
▫ Requirements:
  • There are no formal education or experience requirements for this job, but all candidates must be able to understand English and speak English well enough to be understood.
  • Some knowledge of first aid methods
  • Ability to be firm yet courteous with the public; ability to get along well with children; ability to think and act quickly in emergencies; good powers of observation; dependability; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
  • Prior to appointment, prospective candidates must pass a character/background investigation and may undergo a standard physical examination to be administered by the appointing jurisdiction.
  • Once appointed, candidates must complete several days of training.

   ◊  Parking Enforcement Officer

Parking Enforcement Officers play an integral part in Village operations and are responsible for upholding and enforcing local parking ordinances. Parking Enforcement Officers will accurately identify vehicles utilizing a hand held ticket issuance system to issue parking citations. Enforcement is conducted for on-street parking as well as vehicles within Village parking lots. 

The position of parking enforcement officer is part-time employment opportunity with the Village of Bronxville.

▫ Pay & Benefits:
  • $20.40/hour
  • Uniform: shirt, jacket, and hat
▫ Requirements:
  • Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and either: (a) two (2) years of work experience where the primary function of the position was conducting field inspections and/or investigations; or (b) two (2) years of work experience which required familiarity with municipal codes and ordinances; or (c) two (2) years of work experience involving public contact.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be comfortable walking for long periods
  • Must be available for Saturday and evening hours
  • Prior to appointment, prospective candidates must pass a character/background investigation.
  • Once appointed, candidates must complete several days of training.
