Upon Request Campaign

New Law Eliminates Unwanted Plastic in Your Take-Out Order!

The Bronxville Green Committee is partnering with the Village of Bronxville and the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce to promote the Westchester County “Upon Request” law.  This new law, which went into effect last September, states that no food service establishment will provide single-use foodware or condiment packets in any take-away order unless the customer requests them. Items include forks, knives, spoons, chopsticks, cup sleeves, beverage lids and condiment packets or cups.  If you want these items, you must ask for them!

The law is intended to reduce single-use plastic waste in Westchester County. This common-sense, mindful approach allows you to request only the foodware items you need.
