Although the Building department is closed to the public, it is still in operation. Staff is reduced on site, with some working remotely. Our process has remained the same with the exception that all applications must be mailed in. Please plan your projects with the understanding that our normal review lead time is 3 weeks. Once we have reviewed the application the applicant will be emailed with a response, if all is approved we will mail you your permit. The building department office is working hard to process applications as quickly as possible, we are finding that incomplete applications are slowing down the process substantially. We will do our best to get you your permit as quickly as possible.
Property File Searches:
If you need to look at a property file you can call our office to schedule an appointment to view the file (914-337-7350 or 914-337-7338). Property files will be available for searches on Tuesday and Thursdays ONLY (day is subject to change and is on a first come basis). Only one person is allowed in at a time. Once you request your folder, they will be left in the basket in the main lobby. Once you have completed your search you can place folders in box found under table. We apologize but we cannot make any copies. You can take pictures of any documents you would like at no charge. Any questions please feel free to call us. A mask must be worn at all times.
Thank you and please stay safe!
