The Bronxville Public Library proudly serves the Bronxville community and its surrounding neighbors.  We offer services ranging from simply borrowing books, videos and CDs to using our computers to access Westchester Library's site and for surfing the internet.

Get a Library Card

Bronxville Library cards are available, with proof of residence, to both children and adults of Bronxville.  You may obtain a card by applying in person at the Library circulation desk.  Once you have a card, you may borrow and return materials at any of the 38 libraries in the Westchester County Library system.

Borrowing Periods

Most books, CDs and audio tapes - three weeks

New books, videos and DVDs - one week

Renewals

In person, by telephone, or online

Overdue Fines

Young Adult and Adult books and CD's - 20¢

Juvenile books - 10¢ per day

Audio books - 25¢ per day

Videos and DVDs - $1.00 per day

Express books - 50¢ per day

Returns

During Library hours - front desk

Outside of Library hours - all borrowed materials may be placed in drop-off boxes on Library Lane.

Computer Availability and Use

There are thirteen catalog terminals, eleven of which have internet access, and two word processing computers, one in the fiction room and one in the young adult room. 

Public use of computers is governed by Library Policy.  Please click here and display or print this policy.

Internet Access is not filtered; browsers are strongly urged to respect the Library and patrons in their selections of materials viewed.  Parents are urged to monitor their children's use of the internet.

The Bronxville Public Library is located at 201 Pondfield Road at the intersection of Midland Avenue and Pondfield Road in Bronxville.

From Points South

Bronx River Parkway

Take Bronx River Parkway North to Paxton Avenue (Bronxville) Exit.

At end of ramp turn right onto Paxton Avenue.

Go through two stop signs and turn right onto Parkway Road.

Go to stop sign and turn left onto Midland Avenue.

At second traffic light turn right onto Pondfield Road.

The Library is the brick building immediately on your left.

Interstate 87/Major Deegan

Take Interstate 87/Major Deegan North to Exit 4 (Cross County Parkway), move to the far right after exit ramp to the Cross County Parkway East.

Take Exit 8 (NY 22 North and Mt. Vernon).

Follow exit road to the third traffic light.

Turn left onto Route 22 North and go approximately 1 1/2 miles to the traffic light at Pondfield Road.

Turn left onto Pondfield Road and proceed through two traffic lights.

The Library is the brick building on the right just before the third traffic light.

Henry Hudson Parkway

Take Henry Hudson Parkway North.

Follow signs for Saw Mill River Parkway North.

Take Exit 4 for the Cross County Parkway East.

Take Exit 8 (NY 22 North and Mt. Vernon).

Follow exit road to the third traffic light.

Turn left onto Route 22 North and go approximately 1 1/2 miles to the traffic light at Pondfield Road.

Turn left onto Pondfield Road and proceed through two traffic lights.

The Library is the brick building on the right just before the third traffic light.

From Points North

Bronx River Parkway

Take Bronx River Parkway South to the Desmond Avenue Exit.

At end of ramp turn left and proceed to stop sign.

Turn left onto Midland Avenue.

Go to the second traffic light and turn right onto Pondfield Road.

The Library is the brick building immediately on your left.

Hutchinson River Parkway

Take Hutchinson River Parkway South to Cross County Parkway West.

Take Exit 8 (NY 22 North and Mt. Vernon).

Follow exit road to light and turn left onto Route 22 North.

Go approximately 1 1/2 miles to the traffic light at Pondfield Road.

Turn left onto Pondfield Road and proceed through two lights.

The Library is the building building on the right just before the third traffic light.

Sprain Brook Parkway

Take Sprain Brook Parkway South to Central Avenue exit.

Immediately after merging onto Central Avenue, make the first right and go up the hill to the traffic light at Palmer Road.

Turn right onto Palmer Road and proceed through two lights to a stop sign at the traffic circle.

Turn right onto Parkway Road and proceed to the second stop sign.

Turn left onto Midland Avenue and proceed to second traffic light.

Turn right onto Pondfield Road.

The Library is the brick building immediately on your left.

Handicapped Accessibility

Parking

Handicapped accessible parking is available in designated spaces on Pondfield Road near the sidewalk that leads to the fully accessible front entrance.

Elevator

An elevator serves all floors. >From the main lobby, it may be found to the right of the circulation desk.

Restrooms

Accessible restrooms are located near the elevator on the first and second floors.

Internal Access

Furniture is installed throughout the Library to accommodate wheelchairs.

Areas of Rescue

Areas of Rescue are located in the stairwells on the second floor at the north and south ends of the building, and on the lower level at the north end of the building.  An intercom connects these areas to the main emergency communications panel in the front entranceway.
