Employment Opportunities



At the present time there exists a vacancy (vacancies) for Laborer in the Department of Public Works.  Listed below are the minimum requirements.


This position requires the applicant to be in good physical condition and have good physical endurance; the ability to perform a variety of manual tasks; ability to lift heavy weights; ability to work under all weather conditions; ability to understand orders and communicate with residents and work crews; ability to work will all co-workers in a cordial and cohesive manner; ability to take direction from supervisors and complete tasks with minimum supervision.  The applicant should also have knowledge of the operation of trucks, tractors, automotive and mechanical equipment; knowledge of safety standards; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English. The position will also require the applicant to be available to work various amounts of overtime for specific tasks.

This appointment shall be made in accordance with the current contract between the Village and Local 456 of the Teamsters Union.  This announcement is posted and will be removed from the Department bulletin board in accordance with such contract.


Parking Enforcement Officer Needed
