Bronxville Green Committee

May 19th

10 am – 1 pm       ~     Rain or Shine

Palumbo Place (behind Village Hall)

The Bronxville Green Committee (BGC) will be hosting our semi-annual TAKE BACK DAY on May 19th. Now is the time to de-clutter! Members of the BGC and DPW staff will be on hand to direct and assist you in rain or shine!

Entrance – you will see our signs and volunteers in the only entrance site in front of Village Hall in the Police Station driveway, just past Village Hall building when heading up Pondfield to White Plains Road. Please heed our volunteers’ directions. Palumbo Place will be CLOSED to traffic coming from Gramatan Avenue during the collection hours. The County paper document shredder will be with us. There is a two-box limit per car - commercial drop offs are not permitted.

New Collection!

Not Accepted - Lacrosse gear, Football pads & shoulder pads, Golf shoes, Golf clubs, Wrestling gear, Swimming gear, Apparel, Skateboards, Skis & ski boots, Snowboard gear, bowling balls, karate, swim gear, bikes, bike helmets, boxing gear and rollerblades

Furniture Sharehouse – a not-for-profit organization established in 2007 that provides donated furniture to needy individuals and families living in Westchester County, giving them the basic household furnishings that enable them to rebuild their lives and live with dignity. Please note that this is for usable items. This is not a dumpsite. This event is a true ‘green’ event meaning all collected items will be repurposed.

IMPORTANT: Check guidelines (not all furniture is accepted):

Yonkers Animal Shelter  – sheets, towels and blankets only, please

E-Waste – electronic devices - computers, tablets, monitors, cell phones, printers, TV. Check the DPW link on VillageofBronxville.com to view more acceptable items classified ‘electronic waste’

County Mobile Paper Shredder - secure, on-site shredding - 2-carton limit per car - all paperclips and staples removed. No commercial drop offs, please. Also, no walk-ins since this disrupts the line order and may cause angst!

A special thanks to the BGC volunteer members, Mayor Mary Marvin - our liaison to the VOB, Village Administrator Jim Palmer and always helpful DPW staff for making this much needed event possible.
