MIDLAND AVENUE CLOSURE - TRAFFIC ADVISORY
A sinkhole has redeveloped as construction continues on the flood mitigation project on Midland Avenue.
Effective immediately and until further notice Midland Avenue is closed from Pondfield Road to Crows Nest Road.
Please read the below information for traffic flow in the immediate area and Bronxville Public School pickup and drop off procedure.
If you live on Library Lane or Midland Avenue between Pondfield Road and Crows Nest Road you can only access your home via the intersection of Midland Avenue and Masterton Road. No traffic is permitted northbound on Midland Avenue from any of these locations. If you are leaving your home on Library Lane or Midland Avenue you must make a right turn and head north on Midland Avenue. When you are returning you must enter Midland Avenue from the Masterton Road intersection.
Bronxville Public School:
Bronxville Elementary school pickup and drop off will take place on Pondfield Road and Meadow Avenue.
Kindergarten, first and second grade
Use Meadow Avenue for pickup and drop off.
Third, fourth and fifth grade
Use Pondfield Road for pickup and drop off.
This closure will result in congestion and lengthy delays on roadways in proximity to the school. Please avoid the area if you can - especially at school pickup and drop off times. If you can carpool or walk to and from school it will be very helpful. Police Officers will be assigned to assist in traffic control.
It is expected that the above procedures may be in place for as long as two weeks. Further updates will be sent as necessary.
If there are any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact the Police Department at 337-0500.
We apologize for the inconvenience and greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this road closure.
